On March 21st, Helambu Education and Livelihood Partnership, welcomed 11 students from Loughborough University, Leicestershire to support school reconstruction project. The team left Kathmandu for Birkharka where they volunteered with the painting of the freshly erected Shri Satdhara Lower Secondary School. The painting work continued till the day of inauguration, March 27.
The volunteers also met with Anthony Lunch from our partner INGO Mondo Challenge Foundation who was visiting Nepal at the time, during the inauguration of the Satdhaara School at Birkharka. On March 28, the team guided by our volunteer coordinator Mohan Tamang reached Pragya Primary School located at Duwachaur VDC to distribute school bags and educational supplies to children under the School in A Bag project. During their stay, LSU volunteers also got to experience Holi celebrations with HELP staff.
We sincerely thank the L’Borough students who despite high wind and slippery road conditions participated in the school bag distribution programme.
